Import global variables of a CSV file

Use Project > Import > Variables of a CSV file > Global variables to import variables from a text file into the global variable list. The text data has to be in CSV (Character Separated Values) format. This means that the individual entries are separated by commas ‘,’ or semicolons ‘;’. (The separator can be set under Extras > Options > Program options > CSV export).

NOTE

The import of local variables is not possible.

  1. Project > Import > Variables of a CSV file > Global variables
  2. Select path
  3. Select file name
  4. Open

    You can import any CSV file. The dialog CSV import global variable list appears.

    The following options are available in the dialog:

    Option

    Description

    Import from line

    Starts the import process, beginning with this line. The line chosen is shown in the list on the left.

    Assign

    Assigns the entry selected in the list on the left to the entry selected in the list on the right. The assignment will be indicated using a field number. Multiple selection in the list on the right is possible.

    Remove

    Removes the assignment selected in the list on the right. "Unassigned" will be displayed next to the item.

    Save import configuration

    Saves the import configuration to a file.

    Load import configuration

    Loads an import configuration from a file.

    Reset to default configuration

    Applies the standard values to all settings.

    Import

    Starts the import process from the line set with Import from line.

    Cancel

    Closes the dialog without importing.
