Online mode

With Online > Online mode you can toggle between online and offline mode. The current mode is indicated in the status bar with highlighting.

As soon as you change from offline mode to online mode and the system was able to establish a connection, the following process starts:

  1. It is checked whether the PLC type set in the project is the same as the PLC connected. If this is not the case, you will be asked to adopt the PLC type connected.
In this case, the user is asked which of the two options should be used to initialize the PLC configuration:
    • Use the default settings
    • Keep the current settings wherever possible
If you cancel this process, Control FPWIN Pro7 remains in offline mode.
  2. It is checked whether the data for the current project is out of date. When the data is out of date, you have three options:
    Option Description

    Compile all...

This is the only kind of compilation which ensures predictable allocation of addresses for all variables.

    Compile incrementally...

This is the fastest way of compilation because only the changed POUs are compiled. However, a predictable allocation of addresses for all variables cannot be guaranteed.

    Cancel

With this option, you can go online, but consistent monitoring cannot be guaranteed.

  3. The dialog Download project to PLC is displayed.
