Entry data monitor

Open a new instance of the entry data monitor pane with Monitor > Entry data monitor to display the state of any variable on the screen while the program is being executed in the PLC. If desired, you can also change the variables' values (input/output forcing).

To open an existing pane, find the instance under Window > Panes .

  1. Online > Online mode
  2. Online > Change PLC mode
  3. Monitor > Entry data monitor

    The pane Entry data monitor 1 is displayed.

    In the Identifier column, you can enter the following values directly:

    • For global variables:

      • FP address (X0, Y2) or FP address range (DT0–DT10)

      • IEC address (%IX0.0) or IEC address range (%MW5.0–%MW5.10)

      • Identifier from the global variable list

    • For local variables:

      • POU name

      • POU name.name of the variable

      • POU name.name of a function block instance

    The variables are displayed in the entry data monitor with their identifier, the value, the assigned  FP address, and the defined comment.

    Structures (POU names, array variables, and DUT variables) can be expanded and collapsed.

    Tip

    You can sort rows by more than one criterion. After selecting the first column head as the sorting criterion, press <Shift> and select the next criterion. Keep <Shift> pressed and select the triangle to switch between ascending and descending order.
