Recipe editor

The recipe editor is used to compose a data record containing all variables necessary for a certain recipe. In other words, you can enter and change variables or assign new values to the variables. Then the recipe can be saved in a file and be transferred directly into the PLC if you are in online mode. Upload recipe enables you to upload the current variable values of a recipe in Online mode.

You can use the menus under Monitor > Recipe editor as well as the context menu within the recipe list.

Opening the recipe editor

  1. Open a new instance of the recipe editor pane with Monitor > Recipe editor.
  2. Open the Variables pane.
  3. Select Global Variables, the name of the desired library or the name of the POU header from which you want to insert variables in the Recipe editor.
  4. Drag and drop the variables into the recipe editor list.

    You can also enter the names of the variables or the addresses directly into the Identifier column.

    If necessary, you can change the values and names of the variables in the recipe editor and save the recipe in a file.

Changing the value of a variable

  1. Select the variable (line) in the Recipe editor which is to be changed.
  2. Click into the Value cell.
  3. Enter the new value. <Enter>

    The new value of the variable is displayed and the editing mode deactivated. If you enter a value for a variable which is outside the accepted range or in the wrong format, a message appears.

Changing the name

  1. Click into the Identifier cell.
  2. Enter the new name. <Enter>

    The new name of the variable is displayed and the editing mode is deactivated.

Saving to file

  1. Right-click on the list and select Save as.
  2. Enter a file name

    As extension of the file name *.xmw is proposed. Later you can reload the file with Open from the context menu.
