Initialization of variables after download in PROG mode

  • Initialize all variables (only if Control FPWIN Pro is used for programming the PLC)

Recommended option to save program code.

  • Initialize all variables (if an SD card or other external device is used for programming the PLC)

Recommended option if the program code is transferred to the PLC e.g. via SD card.

  • Initialize all variables except global retain variables with explicit addresses

Select this option only to update an existing program in the PLC.

If new global retain variables with explicit addresses are added, these new variables must be initialized manually after download, e.g. in PROG mode via the EDM pane.

  • Initialize all variables except existing retain variables

Select this option only to update an existing program in the PLC.

Note: the number of program steps depends on the address assignment of the PLC.

Choose a desired option.

Maximum number of program steps for periodic interrupt

The number of steps depends on the size of the periodic interrupt. An error message is output if the size of the periodic interrupt does not fit.

If you enter an invalid number, the valid range of entries is displayed in a message box. When you have changed the value, you have to re-compile the project and execute Download program code and PLC configuration to PLC.

Default string length (characters)

Enter the number of characters you want the default string length to be (max. 255 characters).

Indexed function block instances

Using this option you can specify how the compiler generates program codes for function blocks that you, the user, created yourself. This option is only available for some controllers.

Path\file name to store compile/check messages

Here you enter the name and path of a file (e.g. C:\directory\name.txt) where all messages are stored which are displayed in the dialog box Compile/check pane.

Each time Object > Check or Project > Compile all.../Compile incrementally... is executed, the content of this file is automatically overwritten.

Stop check at number of errors

Stop check at number of warnings

Enter the number of errors/warnings after which you want the compile process to stop.

NOTE

To activate the standard settings for your compiler, select Default.
