SMTP client

The SMTP mail transfer function is used to transmit mail from PLC to SMTP server using the mail transmission protocol.

  1. Double-click SMTP client in the project navigator

Basic settings

  1. Activate the option Use e-mail transmission function to activate the SMTP settings

    The drop-down lists Unit is active

  2. Enter the following settings:

    Account

    Sender information:

    • Name (max. 32 characters)

    • E-Mail address

    SMTP server

    • IP address or host name (IPV4 or PPV6 is possible)

    • port (range 1–65535)

    Login

    If required, set authentication method

    • user name (max. 32 characters)

    • password (max. 32 characters)

    Communication

    If required, activate Use SSL3/TSL1 security transmission

    • Max. sent e-mail size: 1-10240KB or 1-10MB

    • Connection timeout: 30-300 seconds

    • No. of retries: 0-3

    • Retry interval: select time value

    Subject/text

    Select language

    Destination groups

    Double-click the fields to enter destination groups

  3. Next

    Event e-mail (optional settings), but either this or the next settings are required

  4. Select Add to enter settings for a PLC event to send data or e-mail

    A maximum of 16 transfer profiles (Transfer ID 0-Transfer ID 15) are possible.

  5. Next

    Log file e-mail (optional settings), but either this or the previous settings are required

  6. Select Add to enter settings for sending logging/trace results

    A maximum of 16 Logging/trace profiles (Logging/trace ID 0-Logging/trace ID 15) are possible.
