Triggers of trace operation and file contents

Start of trace operation
The trace operation is started by any of the following methods: selecting the Start button in the Data recording window, using an instruction in a user program, and Automatic start setting.
Data logging
- Once the trace operation has been started, it is executed when the sampling trigger condition is met.
- Traced data is stored in the buffer memory (RAM) in the CPU unit.
- After that, the trace operation continues until the trace stop condition is met.
Stop of trace operation
- The trace operation stops when either one of the two stop conditions (Bit or Buffer full) is met.
- When the trace stop condition is Bit, the trace operation stops after the logging performed for the specified number of samplings after the condition was met.
- When the trace operation has completed successfully, the trace data acquisition done system variables (sys_bIsLog0DataRecordingDone–sys_bIsLog15DataRecordingDone) turn to TRUE.
- When Save buffer to file on SD card is set, all the data in the buffer memory in the CPU unit is written to the file in the SD card and saved. The time stamp information is the time data at the time of the occurence of stop trigger.

Tip

When Bit or Interval have been selected as sampling triggers for the trace funtion, the bit or the interval is checked at the end of scan, and data is stored in the buffer memory when the condition is met. When Instruction (FP_LOGTRACE_SAMPLE) has been selected, data is stored into the buffer memory when the instruction is executed.
If the trace operation is stopped by the tool software operation or the instruction FP_LOGTRACE_STOP while the trace stop condition has not been met, logged data is not saved in either the buffer memory (RAM) or an SD card.
