Hold-type memory ranges (without battery)

The PLC keeps the values of hold-type memory areas without battery. The address range of hold-type memory areas is dependent on the PLC type.

NOTE

FP0H, FP-XH, FP-X, FPS (compact PLCs with an optional battery):

  • If you mount a battery, the whole data memory (adjustable) can be used as a hold-type memory.

  • If you do not mount a battery, the data memory area specified in the columns under "Hold-type memory area (without battery)" in the table above can be used as a hold-type memory.

  • Without battery, the whole data memory has a limited holding power, which lasts for about 60 seconds (valid for an FP0H PLC). After this time, all memory areas apart from the standard hold-type memory are initialized to value 0.

FP0 T32CP and FP0R T32CP:

  • A maintenance-free, built-in supercap accumulator is used to hold the whole data memory (adjustable).

  • The backup time ranges from 14 to 50 days and depends on the ambient temperature.

  • The typical service life of the accumulator is up to 10 years at an ambient temperature of 25°C.

  • When the accumulator is empty, the PLC initializes the memory to value 0.

  • The data memory area specified in the columns under "Hold-type memory area (without battery)" in the table above can be used as a hold-type memory even if the accumulator is empty.

FP0R F32CP: Data registers of 32765 words can be written to the built-in F-ROM, which serves as a hold-type memory area.

FP7:

  • If you do not mount a battery, the data memory area specified in the columns under "Hold-type memory area (without battery)" in the table above can be used as a hold-type memory.

  • Project data (program and PLC configuration) and operation memory (except for clock/calendar data) are automatically backed up by the built-in non-volatile memory (Flash-ROM).

  • The clock/calendar function keeps working for about one week thanks to the built-in capacitor even if no battery is used. In order to charge the built-in capacitor, supply power to the CPU unit for at least 30 minutes.
