User interface

The user interface of Control FPWIN Pro7 consists of the following main elements:

  • Menu bar

  • Toolbar

    Click here for a description of the main toolbar. Toolbars specific to the different editors toolbars are described under "Programming editors".

  • Navigator panes: Project, Calltree, Used by

    The Project pane is the standard pane for creating, editing, and viewing projects.

  • Programming window

  • Selection panes: Variables, Instructions, Templates

    The selection panes offer a comfortable user interface for inserting variables, instructions, or templates into the POU body.

  • Status bar

    The status bar can be customized under Extras > Options > Program options > Status bar.

You can move and dock important panes to different positions in the window. Choose the desired option for the pane's behavior from the list box in the upper right corner:

Floating

The pane can be placed at any position on your monitor. The docking arrows do not appear while moving the pane.

Dockable

Paying attention to the docking arrows that appear while moving the pane, drag and drop the pane exactly over the desired docking arrow and release the mouse button.

Auto hide

Change the pin symbol of the pane to auto-hide mode: The pane is automatically displayed if an action from the pane is called. Use Window > Panes  > Auto hide all to set all panes to this mode.

Hide

The pane is closed and remains hidden. Using Window > Panes , you can make the desired panes reappear.

Control FPWIN Pro7 offers numerous other possibilities to customize your working area. If they are features of an editor's graphical user interface, they are described under "Programming editors". Many options can also be found under Extras > Options > Program options > General and are described under Options of the Extras menu.

Changing the user interface language

The user interface language can be changed if an additional language has been installed. If you cannot switch the interface language, install the desired language from the Control FPWIN Pro7 installation.

  1. Extras > Options > Program options > General
  2. Select desired language
  3. OK
  4. To activate the desired language, close and restart Control FPWIN Pro7
