Online > PLC type... enables you to select the PLC type. Please note that you can only change the PLC type in offline mode.
The Adapt PLC configuration settings and compile options dialog is displayed.
Two options are available to set up the new PLC:
To use the default settings of the new PLC type, select Use default settings
When you select Use default settings, the compile options are reset to the default values. Variables from the list of global variables that were in the hold area might now be in the non-hold area. For this reason, you should adapt the compiler options and hold/non-hold areas after changing the PLC. Under Extras > Options > Compile options > Code generation, you can set the compiler to retain these variables.
Furthermore, all system registers are reinitialized and the default values are loaded when you change the PLC type.
To transfer the settings of the current PLC type to the new PLC type, select Keep current settings.
If you select Keep current settings, you may receive a list of items that are set to the default values by the system because these values do not exist in the new PLC type.
The new PLC type is displayed in the Project pane and in the status bar, if configured.
