Transition programs

You can assign a program or a Boolean variable (TRUE, FALSE) to a transition or directly enter a Boolean address (X0, %X0.0) which has been defined in the POU header.

Create a new program for the transition

  1. Select transition
  2. Enter name
  3. Tools > Zoom into
  4. Under Language, select a programming language
  5. OK

    The name of the transition is displayed next to the transition.

    A programming window displaying the body of the transition is opened. Enter the program for the transition in the selected programming language. The result of the programming expression has to be assigned to the transition result. The transition result is a Boolean variable with the name of the transition. It can be selected with <F2>. If the transition result is TRUE, the transition condition is TRUE.

    The new transition is displayed under Transitions in the Project pane.

Allocate Boolean variable

  1. Select transition
  2. Enter name
  3. Window > Panes  > Variables

    The Variables pane is opened.

    If Use automatic filter in Variables pane is selected under Extras > Options > Program options > Editors > Declaration editors, only Boolean variables are displayed.

  4. Double-click selected variable or select Insert variable from the context menu

    The name of the variable is displayed next to the transition.

Enter Boolean address directly

  1. Select transition
  2. Enter Boolean address

    The address (e.g. X0 or %X0.0) is displayed next to the transition.

NOTE

Do not forget to save the new object.
