FP-I4C Web interface help

This documentation contains information on configuring the COM interfaces and services available in the FP-I4C unit.

You can access the information by scrolling through the navigation on the left or by entering a query in the search box (common search operators are supported). To change the language, select one of the languages from the drop-down list.

Basic concepts and functions
Before you start, familiarize yourself with some basic concepts of the FP-I4C unit.
Overview of the user interface
The FP‑I4C Web interface is used to configure the interfaces and services of the FP‑I4C unit.
System Information page
This page provides status information about networks and services as well as operating system information, version numbers, compatibility issues, and security alerts.
COM Interface page
Use this page to set the communication parameters for all physical interfaces (RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet) and to specify the interface to the control device (PLC).
Port page
On this page, you can test the serial connection to the PLC and set redirects from Ethernet to other interfaces of the FP-I4C unit.
Time/Date page
Use this page if you want to update the PLC clock via the FP-I4C unit.
Data Logger page
Use this page to make the log file settings, to import and export variables, and to generate a list of all log files.
Command syntax for PLC file operations
The parameters described here are used implicitly by the FP-I4C function blocks.
FTP Client page
To transfer files via FTP, you either need a PLC to control the file transfer or you can use the script function.
Email Client page
To transfer files by email, you either need a PLC to control the file transfer or you can use the script function.
MQTT page
If you wish to publish data to or subscribe data from a so-called broker via the light-weight MQTT protocol (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport), a PLC is needed to control and to receive the data.
HTTP Client page
When you use the FP-I4C unit as an HTTP client, you can use the HTTP GET and HTTP POST methods with a cloud server. A PLC is needed to send and receive data.
SQL Client page
Use this page if you wish to connect to an SQL database.
NoSQL Client page
Use this page if you want to connect to a MongoDB or InfluxDB database.
Script page
The FP-I4C unit has a simple script command interpreter to operate internal functions and commands.
REST API/HTTP Server page
Use this page to enable or disable the REST API and the HTTP Server of the FP-I4C unit.
TLS Client/Server page
Use this page if you wish to use the TLS client and/or server function of the FP‑I4C unit.
IEC60870 page
Use this page to configure the communication between a PLC and an FP-I4C unit according to the IEC60870-5-104 standard.
Backup/Restore page
Use this page to save and to restore the settings of the services you use or to reset your configuration to the default settings.
Firmware Update page
Use this page to update the firmware of the FP-I4C unit.
Graphs page
Use this page to view your logged data or local CSV files as a graph.
